First paddle in a long long time and my speed made good was 2.5 miles an hour, which what ever i wasnt trying to make a record. Upon converting to nautical miles (an hour) which is proper...basically 2 miles an hour.
Aside from that minor blemish. I got to explore a new area and look forward to quite a few more day/night trips in the future. I'm pretty comfortable with similar areas going solo but Im still of the mind to preffer a partner for any trans bay crossings. Which I hope to do soon. Assuming I havent 'lost' my roll Id like to practice that a bit more soon as well.
It was a beatiful day and I had a very pleasant chance to observe a few hundred birds enjoying the Zero Tide and resulting clams etc.
Ironic that the day after mavericks i was enjoying a almost windless and pond like day.
cheers,
p.s.
Finally Fixed almost all the 'issues' with the kayak. The primary concerns about the bulkheads are resolved. nothing like money and elbow grease to fix a problem.
