isnt always fun. Apparently though I can average a more respectable range and speed when suitably motivated.
Minor case of the Seven Ps. (proper prevention...) Where routes were not exactly clear and mental maps of an area likewise fuzzy.
Inital plan was 3 hours and 6-8miles. Final Trip was at least 17.9 miles (closer to 20 i Imagine) and 4 hours.
All in all was a good experience. Very glad no one was sent off to search for me as I was delayed and cell coverage (charge) was spotty.
First paddle in a long long time and my speed made good was 2.5 miles an hour, which what ever i wasnt trying to make a record. Upon converting to nautical miles (an hour) which is proper...basically 2 miles an hour.
Aside from that minor blemish. I got to explore a new area and look forward to quite a few more day/night trips in the future. I'm pretty comfortable with similar areas going solo but Im still of the mind to preffer a partner for any trans bay crossings. Which I hope to do soon. Assuming I havent 'lost' my roll Id like to practice that a bit more soon as well.
